Founder — Dance Media Network
Project Manager · Event Producer · Technical Director · Breaker since 2000
I started breaking in 2000 after watching Run DMC's It's Like That. That moment set the direction for everything that followed.
What began as a passion for the culture turned into over two decades of building within it. Not from the outside looking in but from the floor up. As a breaker, as an organiser, as a producer, and as someone who has consistently shown up where the culture needed infrastructure.
In 2001 I helped form True Skillz in Eindhoven, which later became Rugged Solutions and then The Ruggeds, one of the most respected breaking crews in the world. That foundation in the scene shaped how I think about work: with credibility, with standards, and with genuine respect for the culture.
What I've built
In 2009, together with four others, I co-founded the World Breaking Classic, an international breaking event that is now entering its 16th edition in 2026. That project alone taught me everything about building something from nothing and keeping it alive.
Around the same time I founded New Dance TV, a media platform with millions of followers online and its own app, alongside a media production arm. I also co-founded the Dutch Breaking League, the national competitive structure for breaking in the Netherlands.
Since 2013, I've been working with Red Bull BC One as project manager for the global Cyphers, the annual World Finals, and standalone productions including Red Bull Gym Clash and Red Bull Dance Your Style. The world final in Tokyo in 2025 was one of the biggest stages I've worked on to date.
Since 2016, I've served as Technical Director for the breaking division supporting the Dutch national team's elite sport pathway, including broadcasts and coverage of the Olympic Games Paris 2024, the World Games 2025, and the European Games 2023.
I believe in the power of bringing people together, through live events, through online platforms, through shared culture. The best work I've done has always had that at its core: create the conditions for something real to happen, then execute at the level it deserves.
Through the years
Every project I take on is connected to culture in some form. That's not a marketing line — it's where I come from and what keeps the work honest.
The most powerful thing you can do is bring people into the same room. Events are not just productions — they're moments where communities are built and relationships are formed.
I've spent 25 years raising the level of what breaking events and media can look like. That standard doesn't drop depending on the budget or the brief.
